How did the Mood Ring campaign start?
Remember those mood rings that you would wear and depending on your 'mood' it would change colour?
Here is the next generation Mood ring ! no body heat required!
Emojis are universal regardless of language and age. Since I can bead just about any pattern, I designed a beaded ring that looked like a happy face emoji and I thought it was super cute. Each time I wore it someone complimented me.
When a dear friend of mine saw me wearing my emoji ring for the first time she flipped out and insisted I make one for her. We joked about this being the 'new' mood ring and how showing your mood on a ring is a unique way to express feelings without saying a word. That evening while running an errand on her way home, a woman in the check-out line saw the ring and complimented my friend. In a spontaneous moment my friend took off her ring and placed it on the counter, offering it to this stranger, sensing that she somehow needed the happy energy. Turns out my friend's intuition was right! This woman had a horrible week and the happy face ring brightened her day. I made my friend another ring. Weeks later visiting out West, my friend once again found herself 'ring-less' as she uplifted her niece with her 2nd ring. Since then, my friend has purchased over 20 pieces.
All proceeds of Mood Rings are directly used in Community projects across the GTA teaching skills and building healthy conversations and confidence.
